Currently December

You can bet my cart is full for the upcoming Teachers Pay Teachers Sale! This new 1st grade teacher has to load up when she can! My entire store will also be 20% off.

I am also super excited to be joining Mel and Michelle for their Elf on the Shelf Linky that they will be having each Sunday night. I am hoping that there will be an elf waiting for us in my classroom tomorrow morning, but I think we will have to wait on the magic of Santa to get him there. :) The first linkup will happen this Sunday, December 8th.

Last, but not least I of course had to link up for the last Currently of 2013. Did I really just say that? December???? Where the heck has 2013 gone? It has definitely been one for the books for me!

Listening: House Hunters is a pretty much a nightly tradition for me. There is not much on TV at 10 p.m. I have also been listening to Christmas music since November 1st. I am so thankful that my kiddos love listening to it at school too.

Loving: Is there seriously only 15 more school days before it is time for Christmas Break? That seems impossible to me! We have lots of fun things planned over the next three weeks and I cannot wait to celebrate the holidays with my firsties.

Thinking: I cannot wait to see the faces of my kiddos tomorrow when they find our new friend in our classroom. I did this with my 6th graders last year and they loved it, so it is bound to be a hit in first grade.

Wanting: These have been on my wish list for a long time and I think it is finally time to bite the bullet. Christmas present to myself…I think yes!

Needing: More time off!!! I am beyond jealous of those of you who had the whole week off! That is something that I have never had as a student or teacher. However, I am glad that I did not have the chance to mess my routine up too bad since the break was shorter. 5:45 a.m. will not be as bad.

Favorite Tradition: Each year for as long as I can remember we have gone to the store and picked out special Christmas jambes that we wear on Christmas Eve to bed. Yes, I am 25 and I still love this. I cannot wait to do this with my own kids one day, but I think their Elf friend will leave them for them on Christmas Eve instead. :)

Show Us What You Bought!

If you are like me, you just love Teachers Pay Teachers. Of course I had to load up on lots of goodies during the Cyber Monday Sale. Luckily, I had lots of TpT credits that I had been saving up for it. :) Here are some of my favorite purchases that I made.

If you teach middle school and have not checked out Kasey's store and blog, you are missing out. I recently stumbled upon it through Pinterest and have quickly fallen in love. She has my dream job! I am hoping to use a lot of her ideas in my classroom too.

What were some of your favorite purchases from the sale?

Literacy Centers for Bigger Kids and Bud!

I am so excited because I am pretty sure that I just finished my new favorite product!
It is a total of six Literacy Stations for the 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade classroom that can be used during the month of December. Head to my store to check out the description and to also download the preview that shows you exactly what is included. I promise you will not be disappointed!

We also have a new friend in my classroom, Bud. I noticed him while I was doing some planning today.
My kids are at the age where some still do the Santa thing and others do not, so I knew I had to do mine a little differently. I know my kids will not be sure about it at first, but I am excited for it. Hopefully their behavior will improve...especially my 7th period class.

It's Sale Time!!!

Sneak-a-Peek

First off, I absolutely love when TpT has a big sale! I already love the wonderful products that so many teachers post, but it is even better when you can save a little on them too! This was my first time to really participate as a seller and I am so happy with how I did! Thanks to anyone who bought one of my products!

Now I get to share about some of my favorite purchases that I made during the sale. I bought way too much, but those Feedback points are wonderful!

I got several things from Rachel Lynette! I just love her task cards. However, my favorite purchase I got from her would have to be Reading Response Labels for Interactive Notebooks.

I got a Poetry and Figurative Language Lapbook from Fun in Room 4B.

The ZB Cursive Alphabet Line Flipped from Ladybug's Teacher Files.

All 4 sets of Whole Class Writing Journals from Fancy Free in Fourth.

Terri Thorton's Sub Tub

From 3rd Grade Thoughts I bought her Brain Breaks set.

What was your favorite purchase you made? Head on over to Blog Hoppin' to link up and share some of your favorites that you made!

Back to School Product Premiere-Linky

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to be participating in the BTS Blog Hop! Thanks to Christina for organizing the whole thing, you are wonderful! There are some wonderful educators who are linking up for the Blog Hop and they are sharing some of their favorite products that they have created. The best part is that many of the items are going to be on sale shortly during the Teachers Pay Teacher BTS Sale!
I am still pretty new to the whole TpT thing, but am loving it! I actually just finished one of my favorite products! I made a set of 133 word wall cards that are geared towards the 4th-8th grade Language Arts Classroom! There are so many wonderful resources out there for the lower grades and some fabulous word wall sets, but I wanted one that I could use in my own 6th grade ELA classroom.
On each card I gave the definition and also tried to give an example when possible too. My favorite part of them is all of the bright colors! I cannot wait to see them in my own classroom. :)

You can find my word wall cards listed here in my TpT shop.

Be sure and also check out my Problem Solving Task Cards and my Interactive Language Arts Journal too.

Don't forget that you can get up to 28% off during the TpT sale that starts on Saturday!

Problem Solving Task Cards

I am super excited about the first set of Problem Solving Task Cards that I created to use in my classroom this coming fall. There are a total of 24 cards and an answer sheet for students to record their answers on. I am so excited about it that I am going to be giving away a free copy to the first 12 people that leave a comment with their email address. Why 12 you ask? Well, that is how many days of school I have left.

No worries, if you aren't one of the first 12 because they are available in both my TpT and Teacher's Notebook shops!

A New Theme for Next Year!

You read that right. Next year room 117 will not have a Hollywood theme.

There will be polka dots...and lots of them! I am so excited about it and have already been stalking Erica's blog and her super cute polka dot themed classroom. Now if only I can find some round tables to use in my classroom instead of desks. I am hoping my AP can help me get this one taken care of. Do you have a theme in your classroom? Are most of your items that go with your theme things you made or purchased from somewhere? Do you have any good polka dot suggestions?

A quick giveaway update for you too...it will go live tomorrow evening once I submit finals for 2 of my grad school classes. I cannot wait for you all to see what all is being given away!

Teahcers Pay Teachers

I finally gave in and created a Teachers Pay Teachers store. I have been wanting to do this for quite sometime now, but I finally did it!

I already have uploaded three things in my store and am currently working on a large packet of things that can be used for an interactive notebook for reading and writing. I am implementing it with my students and am super excited about it. I will have a whole post dedicated to just that in the next week or so.

I hope that you will check out my TpT store and let others know about it as well!

Teachers Pay Teachers

I am really considering opening my own store on there. I am in the middle of creating a lengthy novel study for Tuck Everlasting and am thinking others might be interested in it too. Do you use TpT? How difficult is it to sell on it? I am considering actually just making everything free to start to see how much interest there actually is in my items.
